DESTITUTE label is back with our fourth release - the last one we have for you in 2021. This time we’re bringing you More Balance / خاڪو by ABADIR, a producer hailing from Cairo and currently stationed in Berlin, and 3HDSafxri, a producer that has been working within the Polish experimental scene for a long, long time. After the club constructions of our previous release this one plays with genres and breaks them down to create music that is as gentle and emotional as it is dramatic and hard hitting.

The first track, More Balance, is a collage of gentle sounds, sampled voices and field recordings that envelops you in a free flowing mist of sounds that is underlined by hits of heavy bass. The melodies weave dramatically around spoken word samples only to break down when rhythmic, atonal hits tear through the veil of peace. Hard, driven bass and deep drums coalesce into a crescendo together with a moving organ melody only to disappear in the end - leaving you with a slow closing sequence of noise and chorals. It's meditative, moving and heart-breaking - a fantastic play on genres and emotions.
It also provides a beautiful gateway into a much more energetic track from 3HDSafxri. خاڪو sounds like speakers at their breaking point, a harshly overdriven, overcompressed mix of melodies, vocals, rumbling bass and drums that almost forms into a monolithic drone, if not for the moments of breakdown that constantly fool your attention. The rhythms flow without stability, stabbing you with noise and broken bass, leading into that meditative state that is created out of controlled ritualistic intake of pain and rhythm. And suddenly there’s nothing - only a guitar-like sound that closes the track as suddenly as if it was a grindcore band.

The entire proceeds from this release will be given to Chlebem i Solą - a Polish charity that is currently working way too hard to manage the migrant crisis on our border with Belarus, where migrants are held between the two borders in inhumane and appalling conditions. We wholeheartedly invite you to support this and other organizations outside of contributing through a purchase of this release and to learn more about the situation, perhaps also to spread the news around your circles.
